Adelaide Hills based Fourth Wave Wine has launched a new range that balances flavour with a lighter touch. The In The Middle range offers fresh mid-strength wines for consumers looking for a lighter option.

In The Middle features a Pinot Noir, Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Prosecco, offering consumers a lighter option for all occasions. The range has a lower alcohol percentage, ranging between 6-7%, and a depth of flavour that belies their lighter profile.

In Australia, more than half of consumers are trying to actively reduce their alcohol intake, with millennials leading the charge. According to the IWSR, wine is the strongest performer in the low alcohol market, and is forecasted to increase +12 per cent annually between 2023-2027.

Fourth Wave Wine’s marketing manager, Indeya Passfield, said the mid-strength wine category is going from strength to strength, and In the Middle allows consumers to enjoy a lighter wine with confidence.

“Working with innovative winemaking techniques to preserve each varietal’s regional characteristic, our In The Middle winemaking team are able to bridge flavour and alcohol and have them meet in the middle, creating five delicious wines that are lighter but with the depth and vibrancy of bigger wines,” said Passfield.

Pinot Noir: A light, vibrant crimson in the glass, the palate is lively with a core of supple red berry flavours accompanied by subtle spice notes. Soft and light mouthfeel, nice acidity, fine tannins and a moderate wine to enjoy with many dishes and occasions.

Prosecco: Vibrant fruit flavours leap from the glass accompanied by a gentle, continuous stream of bubbles. Notes of crisp green pear, zesty lemon rind, and delicate white rose linger gracefully, buoyed by a soft, refreshing acidity.

Pinot Grigio: Gentle hints of pear, delicate white florals, and a touch of white pepper spice grace the nose. On the palate, vibrant notes of pear, crisp green apple, and zesty lemon citrus dance alongside refreshing acidity and subtle fruit undertones.

Rosé: Salmon pink in colour, on the nose showing red apple, apricot, green olive and subtle spice aromas, leading to a gently weighted palate offering bright fruit flavours with nicely pitched acidity, finishing lingering and juicy.

Chardonnay: A vibrant yellow colour with a nose of citrus and stone fruit. The palate is vibrant with white stone fruits and a lime citrus acidity providing drive and length- the perfect seafood pairing.

The In The Middle wine range is available at Dan Murphy’s and independent retailers nationally for RRP $15.99.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
