Mudgee based Three Tails Brewery is combining chocolate and coffee with its brewing skills, with the launch of a collaboration beer in partnership with local producers, Spencer Cocoa and Acreage Coffee.

The Mudgee Mochaccino is an homage to Mudgee’s fresh produce offering, which combines Three Tails Pride of Ringwood hops, with chocolate from artisan chocolate makers, Spencer Cocoa, and beans from specialty coffee roasters, Acreage Coffee, to create a flavourful stout.

Three Tails Brewery head brewer, Jono Beazley, said dessert stouts are very hard to make, as the ingredients added to the hops must be high quality or they leave the beer worse off.

“We knew that only the absolute best, freshest ingredients would make this beer a show-stopper – and we’re so lucky to have found them right in our own backyard,” said Beazley.

“Mudgee is a mecca for quality, flavoursome produce. We were incredibly lucky to work alongside Acreage Coee, who roasted beans specially for this beer, and Spencer Cocoa, who make some of Australia's most coveted chocolate. Mudgee is truly at its best when small businesses come together and showcase the region, just like we’ve done here.”

The beer is the latest in a series of collaboration brews for Three Tails, which has partnered with local wineries Logan and Robert Stein for beer/wine blends. This is the first time the Mudgee brewery has worked alongside local food and coffee producers to create a beer - and the finished product is something unique.

Acreage Coffee founder, Nick Burton, said coffee is all about relationships, so the team was thrilled to be involved in the Mochaccino project, alongside local producers and friends.

“Our Nightshift coffee blend has been incorporated masterfully to add depth and body to this velvety smooth stout. It's our hope now that this beer, built on relationships, will go out onto tables around Mudgee and foster mateship, good chats and a bit of banter!"

The Mochaccino is a culmination of 10kg of Spencer Cocoa cacao nibs, 2kg of Acreage Coffee grounds and 125 double shots of coffee, milled and steeped with Three Tails grains, to give it punch. Three Tails then added oats, milk sugar, and hand-made vanilla to round out the brew, for a smooth, full-bodied and creamy mocha stout.

Spencer Cocoa co-founder and chocolate maker, Luke Spencer, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the Mudgee Mochaccino - a smooth and balanced beer, with a great mouthfeel. Another reason to drink beer - if you needed one!”

The Mudgee Mochaccino is available at Three Tails Brewery and other Three Tails stockists across Central West NSW.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.
