Coca-Cola Ginger has been launched by its South Pacific arm with the promise of  "a subtle hint of ginger". 

Following research which showed that sales of ginger-flavoured drinks were up six per cent in Australia over the past year, with Bundaberg Ginger Beer a firm favourite, the company has decided to branch out in time for summer.

And there may be more surprises ahead. Coca-Cola Amatil said there were plans for a "pipeline of new flavours for Coca-Cola", according to CNBC International.
