Asian food brand Chang’s has launched a 500ml Chinese master stock base in Woolworths stores.
Called Chang’s Chinese Master Stock, the product is designed to be used in Asian home cooking.
According to the company, the stock was made using the traditional Chinese method of slow-cooking garlic, ginger, fennel, star anise, vinegar, and rice wine.
The vegetable-based broth can be used in soups, stir-frys and braised dishes.
In China, some stocks are said to be more than 100 years old and are offered as celebrated wedding presents or sold for thousands of dollars.
The single-use 500ml stock has a recommended retail price of $4.99.
