BioCheese has added a protein variant to its dairy-free shred range, with Cheddar Shred with Protein rolling into Coles supermarkets and independent grocers nationwide from this month.
The shred is built on the brand’s existing base of coconut oil, modified starch and chicory root fibre, with pea protein added to deliver 10g of protein per 100g. It is packed in a 200g resealable bag at an RRP of $9.00, which the company said sits in line with the balance of its convenience range.
BioCheese launched into Coles in 2014 with a single product and now runs more than 15 lines across the majors and independents. The brand sits under Prahran-based investment group My Co, which also owns plant-based protein brand Meliora and acquired pulse protein isolate manufacturer Australian Plant Proteins in March 2025.
My Co CEO, Vicky Pappas, said the product was the first of its kind in Australia.
“Plant-based and dairy-free shouldn’t mean settling for less. We wanted to prove that with our Cheddar Shred with Protein,” Pappas said.
