Motive Matcha is a sparkling new ready-to-drink (RTD) beverage in the health and wellness category. It’s positioned as a sugar free alternative to sodas, flavoured water and other RTDs. This article first appeared in the July 2021 issue of Food and Drink Business.

The drink provides the same health benefits that matcha is well-known for and has been scientifically formulated using ceremonial matcha sourced from biodynamic farms to provide a milk and sugar free alternative to the traditional matcha.

According to the company, one bottle of Motive Matcha has the same health benefits of up to ten cups of regular green tea.

The functional drink contains five times the amount of L-Theanine, an amino acid that promotes alertness and relaxation, compared to other brewed black and green teas. It is also packed with other health benefits such as supporting metabolism, stimulating mental clarity and boosting immunity with plenty of antioxidants.

Motive Matcha is available four flavours – Ginger, Yuzu, Apple, and Lychee – and is only seven calories per bottle.
