Machine vision is becoming an increasingly valuable tool for food processors seeking to improve yield, quality and operational performance. At foodpro 2026, Lindy Hughson spoke with Kirk Batchelor, Queensland sales manager at Linco Food Systems, about the latest vision technology on display and how it is helping poultry processors make better use of production data.
Among the highlights is Baader's vision system, which uses cameras and analytics to monitor processing performance throughout the poultry production line. Batchelor explains how the technology measures residual meat left on chicken frames after deboning, enabling processors to identify maintenance or machine adjustment requirements before yield is lost. The system also provides real-time monitoring of key processing stages to support hygiene, animal welfare, operational efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness.
