To continuously handle the high levels of heat and friction in bearing points in the food and packaging industries, Treotham has introduced its new igus iglidur AX500 as a durable plain bearing solution with ESD properties. This article first appeared in the December 2021 issue of Food and Drink Business.

Plain bearings made of the iglidur AX500 polymer ensure maintenance free and durable bearing points, along with the electrostatically dissipative material allowing safety of employees from electric shocks and stick-free bags.

The solution can be used in ovens and bottle cleaning as it has been designed to withstand high temperatures and is safe from strong cleaning agents through its chemical resistance. No additional lubrication is required as the iglidur AX500 comes with embedded lubricants and is harmless if it comes in contact with food.
