Independent family-owned brewery Coopers has released its new limited-edition Australian IPA, available in kegs and a 375ml can format.

The flavour profile of the new beer includes a blend of Australian exotic hops with citrusy notes of mandarin and orange, as well as a pine and passionfruit.

Coopers managing director and chief brewer Dr Tim Cooper said the brewing team spent months honing the special hops blend to create an Australian take on the traditional IPA.

“IPAs continue to grow in popularity among craft beer drinkers,” Cooper said.

“Australians are also turning to local brands they know and trust. So, while there is a large number of overseas styles in the market, we saw demand for a great tasting IPA with a distinct local touch.

“We’re very mindful about when to bring out a new beer and an enormous amount of time goes into getting it right. We’ve come up with a great tasting Australian IPA that will suit any occasion.”

Coopers Australian IPA will be sold in four packs and cartons through bottle shops nationwide from the end of April.

Coopers ranked in at #77 in Australia's Top 100 Food & Drink Companies 2020 report.
