Domino’s Pizza Enterprises has announced that it will remove all artificial colours, flavours and preservatives from its menu over the next two years.
Group CEO and managing director Don Meij said Domino's had “worked relentlessly” over the past three years to reduce sodium, fats and sugars in its ingredients, and the menu is now also MSG and GMO free.
“We are extremely proud of our main product, our dough, which is preservative free, contains no artificial colours, is GMO free and MSG free and is baked fresh daily in our stores,” Meij said.
The next step, he said, was to remove all artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
“We now have plans to be as equally proud of our entire menu and what it boils down to is if you can’t pronounce it, it shouldn’t be in the food – it’s all about simplifying the ingredients.”
“It’s important we move with the times and continually challenge ourselves to work closely with our partners to get the most natural, freshest, highest quality ingredients so that our customers can reap the health benefits.”
